Sovereignty
The notion of personal sovereignty is becoming much more colloquial as we enter an era that carries the energy of a global coup on the freedoms and rights we have considered to be the foundations of our civilization, particularly freedom of speech. And here I make the link that the new Jupiter/Saturn civilization era echoes the early 1200’s – the time of the Magna Carta, and it is this document that underpins the notion of freedom and equal rights.
Why are we seeing such draconian censorship on the right to question and the right to debate from the viewpoint of differing opinions? That’s what our country was built upon – that’s why we have a corner of Hyde Park in London dedicated as Speaker’s Corner. There appears to be a global power grab right now being made by Big Money, Big Tech, Big Pharma, Big Media – the big ‘corporatists’. It seems they are more powerful than Presidents and Kings. This is Technocracy folks, the consequences of which Huxley tried to warn us about in Brave New World, as he saw around him in the 1930s the beginnings of a desire for a technocratic society run by those who believe that everything can be answered and run by science and academics. Ultimately, Huxley believed, this would result in scientific dictatorship and social engineering on a global level resulting in a way of life that effectively would lead to humanity’s dehumanization.
The word sovereignty means autonomy, independence, self-rule, freedom, supreme power and authority over oneself. Having personal sovereignty requires individuals to have integrity and to stand within their own power. Having sovereignty means recognizing that you not only own but also have responsibility for your Soul and your Soul’s purpose in this life. If you don’t have integrity, if you don’t live in your Truth then you are not ‘owning’ your Soul.
This first New Moon of 2021 falls on January 13th at 23 degrees of Capricorn and this degree is very significant because it echoes the degree of the Saturn/Pluto conjunction of January 2020. We are being reminded of that time – the point when our life changed. Saturn/Pluto aspects in an individual chart are ones that I have always found in my experience to be particularly challenging, because they seem to be times when either the individual decides they need to throw their lives up in the air or, as now, outside circumstances force the complete destruction of the structures and limits by which the individual has kept a feeling of safety and security. That sense of safety and security began to be threatened at the beginning of last year by the type of draconian rules and laws that we had only ever seen before in communist run nations. This is what Saturn/Pluto cycles bring – some kind of systemic crisis, hardship and events that test us to the limit.
Those who committed atrocities in the Second World War, or any war for that matter, defended themselves by saying they were just following the rules – doing what they were told. Field Marshall Hermann Goring commented that it was easy to get the people to do what the leaders wanted. You just had to do what works every time and what governments do best. All that was required was to put the people in fear and then you can get them to do whatever you want. Then you have an easily controlled herd of sheep who panic if the other sheep don’t want to behave as the main flock. It all becomes self-policing. Remember governments and/or those with agendas will never let a good crisis go to waste. Whilst you are locked down and unable to communicate in a normal way with others, you can be sure that the forces of Technocracy are moving forward at an astonishing speed limiting what you can do and say and shifting the wealth upwards.
So how to be a Sovereign Self. Firstly, be curious and question everything. Don’t accept what you are told at face value. Be your own detective. Then you cease to be a victim, buffeted by circumstances beyond your control. Instead you ‘own’ yourself and your decision-making. Secondly, be authentic and become your own unique self with your own faith in life and your own beliefs. Know that you have come into this life with your own Soul and your own purpose. Thirdly, take back responsibility for your own personal reality, how you respond to outside events, your belief systems and put yourself back in the driver’s seat of the unfolding of your life. And then, harking back to my last blog about love, try to step out of fear and instead choose love. When we are fearful external circumstances take away our power over our lives.
As I was researching the meaning of personal sovereignty I came across an article discussing how you can’t hold love and fear simultaneously. This article reminded me that love is not fluffy and whimsy. Love is strength. Love is the power behind the protection of our children. Love is passion for dreams and ideals that we hold strong. These dreams and ideals are meant to drive us on and they have the power to make us super human in the moment. Love can be fierce, it can be overpowering, it can conquer. Love can set us free.
Mainstream media particularly is designed to manipulate how we think and what we do – it is fear-inducing. That’s part of its purpose. So stay off mainstream media and turn to the smaller more independent lines of information. I particularly like UK Column News, which broadcasts three times a week – you can find them on YouTube.
In order to be sovereign we have to live within our truth and in our own power and we have to know that within that we are free. This New Moon, and indeed the astrology through the year, speaks this message and its challenges. It shows a clash between rules and laws versus the forces of revolution, between what the old guard want and a shock awakening to the new. It also shows a similar clash between a revolutionary, new, free society versus some kind of cutting off from what makes us feel safe. Now you can’t have both - freedom and total safety. Over recent years we have become conditioned to become risk averse and to want others and rules to keep us safe. I would argue that a life of having to be made safe leads to a life where one does not accept any responsibility for how one’s life is lived and where we cannot fulfill our soul’s purpose. Is a life without freedom or risk really a life in its full sense at all? Risk is just a part of life – it is how we learn.
All the while we have Neptune in a conflict angle to the nodes – our karmic destiny axis – we will have deception, lies and confusion, particularly by the media. This aspect begins to break later in January but it will be a while before the veil lifts. The astrology for January is intense, explosive, highly volatile and full of shocks and surprises. And the chart for January 20th holds many challenges for the soon to be elected President of the USA – it does not hold sweetness and light for whoever is sworn in. But the whole of 2021 is challenging, with many, and possibly shocking, obstacles to be overcome but also an awakening of consciousness if you are prepared to take up the challenge. The New Moon approaches Pluto, the God of Hell. Hades lived deep underground and here in the UK the threat of even greater and stricter lockdowns will be a living hell for many. It is part of our cycle of evolution – we must stand in our sovereignty.
Janus, the Roman God associated with January, was the god of beginnings and transitions. He was usually depicted as having two faces looking in opposite ways – one towards the past and the other towards the future. We must try to really understand that past so that we can make the intentions at this New Moon that will allow us to hold our sovereignty and move towards building a new future.
The past holds the clues to what we want for the future – and the past is the last century, the last decade, the last month, the last week, the last day, the last hour and the last minute. The astrology tells us that we have a new type of future ahead (Jupiter/Saturn new era) and a New World Order Global Reset coup is playing out before our eyes. It is one of Technocracy – is that really where you want to go? There is no way to have personal Sovereignty in that type of New World Order. Cults do not respond to reason – their Gods are profit, power, mind control and force. Resistance is required.
In Brave New World society was controlled through a drug called Soma, which induced passivity alongside the ‘opiate of consumerism’. Non-stop trivial sensual distractions existed in order to distract society’s attention away from social and political realities. Just like Frankenstein we are being shown how basic humanity can be lost when religion and spiritual belief systems are stamped out and replaced by social and medical engineering. But, as in Huxley’s book, humanity barely notices as dumbed-down, brainwashed minds controlled by social media enter a world of virtual reality rather than actual reality. Organised control of information has become a weapon of war and ultimately it could become a weapon of social destruction and dehumanisation.
Franklin D Roosevelt said in the Depression of the 1930’s that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Fear will turn humanity towards authoritarianism because that is how we think we will be kept safe. In an age where technocracy rules, the future becomes one where we become multi-dimensional digital beings – we become Comrade 666. Smart cities will kill off democracy because every bit of information about you will be known – you can be tracked, identified, controlled and manipulated. And now, as life becomes torturous, a big proportion of humanity will accept anything in order to be freed in the hope they can go back to their old life. It’s like Guantanamo Bay on a huge scale. And it is understandable that people are afraid.
Rather than the constant negative fear-mongering assault on our senses, we need an antidote of positivity. More needs to be said that we have an innate immune system that will come to our aid should we catch any virus; that the odds are NOT stacked against us; that we can step into our own power and sovereignty and take much more responsibility for our own health. The astrology shows that there is an underlying back story behind current events. To understand this we have to be ‘awake’ and not lulled into a soma-induced state of New World Order.
As individuals we have to become Sovereign and do the small things that are within our power. The acorns might be dwarfed by the oak trees, but they seed those mighty oaks. The acorns are small but they are strong. Gather together small groups of ‘acorns’ in a community and those communities will give the acorns strength and support to grow healthy and strong. Zach Bush recently said that just as a healthy ecosystem does not become sick, healthy governance does not suffer from revolution.
And Rachel Elnaugh reminded me that the word evil is actually live in reverse. Evil feeds on fear and terror – living feeds on harmony, freedom, faith, love, having integrity and holding your own personal Sovereignty. The one thing that the Dark dislikes is the Light – and the Light is the Truth, Ethics and Integrity. The future needs to be built on integrity and, once again giving the last word to Zach Bush, integrity requires creativity and biodiversity of perspective, culture, wisdom and spirit. Sovereignty comes through integrity of self-identity. “We the people need to step out of the fray and let the rabid dogs eat each other”.
