WHO declares a pandemic

So this is the chart as the Coronavirus is declared a pandemic by the WHO.  If Mars is the
natural significator of the virus then he is what we call astrologically‘exalted’.   That means he has a lot of
power and strength.   He is also in what we call a Cardinal or action sign, so basically he is a very strong and very busy
boy.   He is about to meet up with Jupiter and Jupiter expands everything he touches – you don’t need me to
explain that one. Mars moves into Aquarius at the end of March but he bigger issue though is that both Mars and Jupiter go on to meet Pluto, the natural significator of pandemics.  So this second half of March is going to be a key time both in terms of the virus and in terms of global economy.    Furthermore, Mars will enter his own sign of Aries where he is super strong at the end of June and he will sit there for the second half of the year – an inordinately long period.

Mercury, as the ruler of the angles of the Ascendant and Midheaven is important in this chart.  We have Virgo rising – very much a sign connected with health and hygiene – and Mercury himself sits in the sixth house of health.  He is on the verge of changing signs into one
of his least favourite signs.   He will be wallowing around in Pisces – a bit like a fish who can’t swim and has to wear armbands.  So he is very little help in this pandemic situation – in fact, he is much more likely to be found flapping his arms around in a state of panic.
The Sun – our leaders – sits with Neptune.   Can we really trust anything we are told, whilst the Moon (the people) is in the second house of money – they are terrified fearful as to the state of their finances will be in once we emerge from this situation.

But for me the bigger issue the fear?   We are entering a period of huge change and
the bottom line is that people don’t like change – particularly when it is forced upon them.  Obviously the virus is a dangerous one but ultimately it is the fear and panic that has the potential to push us over the edge.   It’s the fear of what might happen that will destroy us economically if we aren’t careful.
