Saturn enters the sign of social conscience
Saturn is poised to leave Capricorn and enter Aquarius on the 22nd March. He stays there until July when he returns to Capricorn before making the final change in December where he joins Jupiter to begin a new 250 year socio-economic cycle. I’ve been banging on about this for a while because at its smallest this represents a new age socio-economically – the last time this happened was the time of the Industrial Revolution. And that brought huge changes in terms of how people lived their lives.
Astrology doesn’t work in the same way as a psychic reading so, whilst you can gauge the energy of a time, it’s quite difficult to know until you actually have the context just how this will play out. We know that Aquarius represents technology and science, so it is likely to involve computer technology in terms of Artificial Intelligence, robotics, space travel etc. The unknown was that we didn’t realize that we would need to take into consideration the Coronavirus as part of the context.
So now for instance it is possible to really see the potential of robotics and artificial intelligence in terms of caregiving to a vulnerable population as well as in all sorts of essential services. You can probably rely on a robot to be able to keep doing what it has been programmed to do without the fear that it may be incapacitated by the coronavirus (although computer tech is vulnerable to other types of virus).
The other reason for needing background context is the kind of language that is being used a lot at a particular time. Earlier this year there was no concept of ‘self-isolation’ or ‘social distancing’, but fast forward just a few months and here we are. And it then struck me how Saturn (planet of self-reliance, the elderly, aloneness, restriction and responsibility) when it is coupled with the sign of Aquarius (freedom, humanitarian, the group, friendship, social) really speaks of self-isolation and social distancing. A few months ago I would never have thought to consider this as words which would be commonplace in 2020.
But timing is everything and as soon as Jupiter joins in he ramps up the volume. This year was always scheduled to be a time of economic difficulties, big changes within seemingly too big to fail corporations. But the virus has been the X event that changes everything and brings new words and phrases into the framing of our lives. Stay safe and well out there everyone.
