Gimmicks, Slogans, Lies and Confusion

On the 17th September we have a New Moon in Virgo and for sure it has been an interesting/action packed couple of weeks since the last Full Moon.  There’s a mood change as the Virgo energy kicks in, with a desire for attention to detail, organization, systems and precise communications.  However, it’s more complex than just looking at Virgo. For starters this New Moon sits opposite Neptune, whose energy is one of confusion, of throwing a veil over truth and of deception.  Neptune likes to ‘spin’ and what a lot of spin we are seeing as the most draconian rules EVER in the UK are trounced out under gimmick slogans of ‘the rule of six’, ‘project moonshot’ and ‘face, hands, safe’.  Who on earth gets paid by us taxpayers to think up these slogans??!!  Virgo energy is discriminatory, it is logical, it pays attention to details, it is factual but above all it just wants to see useful, facts, honesty and truth.

Spin might work and be appropriate when you are trying to sell a shiny car or a top of the range watch, but never in our lifetimes have our freedoms, our personal power and our liberty been quite so threatened as now so never in our lifetime is it more important to employ the traits of Virgo rather than be faced with what appears to be a chaotic shambles.  Do what Virgo would do – don’t take anything at face value.  Be discerning and discriminatory with regard to information.  Sift through what you are told and pull out what is useful and what is real.  Question. Delve.  Be like Sherlock Holmes.  Join the dots – all the dots.  The devil’s in the detail.

Virgo is symbolized by the Maiden or Virgin, carrying an ear of corn.  This links her with the harvest, when the wheat is sorted from the chaff to pull out only the bits that are wholesome and nutritious.  Virgo as an earth sign has an innate connection with nature and with health.  I have to admit that I have found myself being taken over by all sorts of emotions recently – outrage, anxiety, bewilderment, sadness and anger are just a few.  A friend reminded me though that what is important right now is that we get through this by keeping our connection with nature and the natural world so that we can raise our spiritual health.  And then I realized how much this connects with the energy of this New Moon.

Planets in the sign of Virgo can lead the individual to worry and to be anxious, but that is because Virgo wants to fix everything, make things better than they were before and I realized that was where the energy I was feeling was coming from.  Virgo has an overall concern with health, but in particular the health of our gut and our digestive system as a whole.  Now the gut is actually very interesting because it does so much more than just digest our food.  The gut happens to be the biggest digestive organ but, perhaps more importantly, it is the biggest immune organ of the human body.  The gut also possesses its own nervous system which is relatively independent of the brain.

I am just reading a book by Anne Jirsch called Future Vision Your Working Life[1].  The author reminded me of something I already knew but had forgotten.  And that is that we don’t just have one brain.  We have three – our head brain, our heart brain (I’ve spoken about that a lot in my newsletters in connection with Dr. Joe Dispenza) and then we have our gut brain. Think gut instinct and gut feelings, which we often choose to ignore at our peril.

Now, whilst the gut brain and the head brain work independently, the microbiota/gut/head brain axis is actually a two-way information and communication network.  Therefore, our gut health affects us both in terms of our mood state as well as physically in terms of our vitality and our ability to fight off disease and infection.  Equally a head brain in a state of fear and panic affects our gut brain.  A troubled intestine can send signals to the brain, just as a troubled brain can send signals to the gut.  You don’t need me to spell out why this should be at the top of our considerations right now.  So firstly make sure you are feeding your gut with good quality natural foods, as well as natural herbs and medicines, which have a direct effect on the health of your gut.  In this way you have the best chance of allowing your more logical, head brain to be able to strategically function at its best at a time when we have never needed this more.  Additionally you are helping your immune system to also function at its best.

Employing daily rituals such as meditation allows the frontal cortex of our head brain to logically take correct action free of the fear induced by ‘fight or flight’ mode.  This in turn will ensure that our gut brain is able to employ its instinctual and intuitive role.  Our heart brain (love) needs to be central to following our soul’s purpose and to ‘infect’ others with our positive vibes, and our gut brain has to be receiving the right type of sustenance to enable optimum efficiency and give correct signals to the head brain.

In order to be discriminatory and discerning (Virgo), all three brains need to be working at the top of their game.  Well that’s of course a very simplified outline but I think you all get the message here.  Our bodies are designed to self heal – but rarely are we told that.  You get a cold, you’re poorly for a few days and then your immune responses kick in and you recover.  If your gut brain isn’t fed the right stuff this won’t happen – your mood will be negatively affected and your heart will not be able to tune in to spread your positive thoughts to others.  We need our three brains, driven by our gut feelings and intuition, to be working at top form now more than ever – we need our immune system to be doing its best job.

This New Moon is showing that we have a window right now where we have strength to logically work out whether we are enabling our three brains to work in harmony so that we can sustain both our physical and our spiritual health, thereby giving ourselves thee best possible chance to fight (Mars) and survive these tests and challenges.

I’ve spoken a lot about the meeting of Saturn and Pluto (expanded by Jupiter) this year, but in many ways Saturn/Pluto shouts fascism and control very loudly.  Interestingly, at the start of the Second World Ware, we saw a Saturn/Pluto opposition and now, at the conjunction), we are seeing a type of creeping fascism edging its way into our lives under the guise of keeping us all safe.  However, if we need to be kept safe, that implies we should be very afraid of something that will make us very unsafe, and with fear we become a very compliant, easy to control society.

It’s interesting that the latest new rules in the UK kicked off just as Mars stood still in his own sign of Aries before going retrograde until mid-November.  Astrologically, Mars represents anger and aggression – he is the God of War.  He represents our desire to act, our ability to be forceful, to be assertive and attain our will.  Mars in Aries is a significator of fire and when he stands still in his own sign he is very powerful – look at the apocalyptic fires right now in California.  What may also have slipped under the radar is the burning down of the big refugee camp on Lesbos as well as the reigniting of the Amazon rain forest.

Mars is our stamina and our energy.  Mars wants free will to act, but in his capacity as ruler of Scorpio he will also act to force out and poke around in the proverbial bees’ nests of issues that are secret or buried deep.  And even though Mars will have his wings clipped in some way be being retrograde, he is still in his own sign and he will still have great power and desire to be active.  Mars was also in Capricorn while Saturn and Pluto opposed each other at the start of World War II, and this was the time when the Resistance began.  The most important thing to Resistright now is fear and panic, particularly when it is difficult to work out whether governments are coming from a fear state or from some other kind of agenda.

Retrograde periods are extremely useful – they are times when it is necessary to go back over our thoughts and our actions in order to re-evaluate.  And with Mars in Aries I think it is even more important to put on our New Moon Virgo hats to make sure we are taking action in the right areas.  Jupiter has just turned direct and by the end of November all the retrograde planets will once again be in direct motion, so we have an end in sight to the stops, the starts and the U turns (I hope).  What is most important is that we use the retrograde times to re-assess our physical health together with our spiritual attitude.

If the government is going to do a project ‘Moonshot’ (note that Moonshot can be defined as a project which is groundbreaking and exploratory but without any expectation of near term profitability or benefit!), then at the very least we must re-assess the ground rules of what this testing is telling us.  At the beginning the premise was hospital admissions and deaths.  A positive test is not the same as case.   Many positive tests come from people who are asymptomatic – which in my book makes them healthy people whose immune system is doing what it’s supposed to do.  Crucially, this test also picks up dead viral load, so my question really is are we applying the number of positive testings in the same vein as we were applying numbers of admissions/cases/deaths?  In other words are we unnecessarily fanning the flames of fear?  Mars going retrograde means he will go back to square all the Capricorn planets.  Perfect to poke the bees nests again – all the bees nests!!!

So two analogies stand out for me this week.  One is the Emperor’s new clothes.  Has no one told Boris he is not wearing the clothes of Churchill – he is standing in front of us stark bollock naked.  We either have a government in panic, sending out very mixed messages – Eat out to help out.  Go back to school.  Go back to uni.  Go back to work.  Test, test, test.  Oh dear, now we have lots more positive tests.  Now what?  Let’s all panic.  Throw more money at the problem.  Put the burden of guilt on the young – don’t kill Granny.  Actually you know, Granny does have a brain and most of the time is quite capable of making her own decisions and taking her own calculated risks.

No!!! Resist the fear and consider the cure.  Peter Hitchens, a journalist who writes for the Mail on Sunday, likened the cure for the current virus to a doctor’s cure for someone presenting with a rash.  (My second analogy).  The doctor said he could definitely cure the rash but to do so he would have to cut off the patient’s right leg.  The patient agreed and the rash duly disappeared.  But, as the guy found out, he was left with a worse problem – he no longer had a right leg and he could no longer walk!

On that note I leave you with the thought that at this New Moon you have a window to take back your power to claim the kind of transformation that you want to see and not one that emanates from either fear or a desire for control.  Keep your three brains happy so that you can function from a place of peace and harmony, with a strong immune system.   If your gut instincts are telling you that something is not right, then something probably isn’t right, so it’s important to put your /Virgo detective hat on and search for clues to the truth – your own personal truth.  In that way you have reclaimed your own personal power and if you don’t like what you see – say no until you get the facts you need!
