Humanity’s Software Update
The Full Moon in Aries on October 1st cuts a bit of a lonely figure. She’s not in one of her happy signs and she is ostracized from almost everyone. She is talking to none of the other planets in the sky – only asteroid Chiron (where we are wounded). The Moon much prefers to be in a watery habitat where her emotional nature can wallow. In fiery Aries she makes steam. She is hurting and she’s lonely and isolated. That makes a lot of sense right now to be honest in the context of our current situation. I think many of us can identify with these feelings. In the UK when Boris said the words that the current restrictions were likely to continue for six months he took away ‘hope’ and replaced it with sadness.
Aries is the sign of courage, of war, of the warrior and of the fight. Mars (the ruler of Aries) also signifies the virus. And here we are – at war with a virus!! All lunations tell us something and this one is carrying a message that we should make a radical change to our way of thinking and our ideas. This makes perfect sense to me having found my way once again to the amazing Zach Bush’s website. How did I not know he had uploaded a lecture entitled Virome? But, as with everything, the timing was perfect for my message at this Full Moon.
Zach Bush and the role of the virome Bush’s take on the role of viruses is radical, but then this Full Moon is asking for a new way of thinking, something that turns our previous thoughts on their heads. So in a nutshell I will paraphrase what he says - it’s a fairly teccy talk. To listen to the full lecture go directly to his website. I would honestly recommend that you do.
Inherent within our biology lies the secret to the continuance of human life – our ability to adapt. Our bodies are truly miracles. As much as possible they keep themselves in homeostasis (balance) and are designed to self-heal. Disease – or dis-ease – is just a failure of health and right now we are seeing epidemics of all sorts of diseases, not just COVID. We have huge amounts of cancers, diabetes, asthma, allergies in general, autism/ADHD, obesity. All these, in Bush’s view, are just symptoms of the collapse of our health in general.
I wrote a lot in my last newsletter on the importance of the health of our gut, particularly in terms of its capacity as our third brain - and in that respect the connection between the gut and our head brain. And indeed it is not just the gut; our whole body is an ecosystem making up a very complex microbiome. This microbiome contains all sorts of unexpected things, ranging from fungi through to bacteria, and is present in all tissues of the body. However, overuse of antibiotics, the over spraying of our crops with glyphosates, together with our polluted air and waters, are now disrupting the microbiome, allowing disease to emerge and auto immune disorders to be triggered.
Our planet is in a constant state of transformation and that is exactly what is happening to us individuallly as we head for some kind of New World Order. All life is based on a capacity to adapt and regenerate in the face of challenges and this is what we are facing in terms of how civilization conducts itself and in terms of our health.
Weeds have learned to adapt to the constant spraying through transferring genetic information to other species, allowing them to survive. In the same way it is Bush’s view that viruses have made our bodies adapt over a long period of time. He likens the adaptation brought about in this way to the type of software update we receive regularly on our phones. Without this software update our phones behave badly and in the end stop working. The same is likely to happen to us. Without software updates we will just cease to exist and become extinct. It is very radical to think that the path we are putting ourselves on is actually the path to eventual extinction as we put ourselves in direct opposition to a virus.
Bush considers viruses to be a genetic information transfer system which we kill at our peril. Furthermore, we are trying to kill something which is already dead. Just like a fungus a virus requires a host. So here I would add my own tuppence worth – make yourself a host that is so healthy that the virus will not do any lasting damage to your health. And you all know how to do that.
Viruses did not only begin to travel the world when we invented aeroplanes and regular travel – they have been travelling far far longer than that. Viruses attach themselves to the carbon particulate in the atmosphere and travel across the globe. In this respect we should note that Hubei province (the epicentre of the SARS-COV-2 virus) is a centre of high spraying of glyphosates as well as a centre of very polluted air (just like Northern Italy). Bush in his lecture tracks the path of travel of the virus very graphically coincidental to the time of the normal flu season beginning November 2019. He tracks its passage across Northern Italy and then to the northern part of the USA (where first New York and Seattle were badly affected). The atmosphere containing the virus then dropped further south and the rest is history.
To eradicate the virus we are spraying even more toxins and carcinogens into the atmosphere. Further down the line, Bush considers this is likely to just bring in the next epidemic – a cancer epidemic. Without a healthy microbiome we will lose the ability to fight back naturally and there will be a complete breakdown in cell communication. In fact it was 1992 when we started to spray our crops more heavily. Gradually our innate immunity was undermined, our guts became leaky sieves, the viruses began to overexpress themselves and all cancers began to increase.
The cure that is required is one that will correct the dysfunctional malfunction within ourselves and that will include an end to our ever-increasing consumerism of greed which has fuelled the growing toxicity present in our lifestyles.
What Bush is trying to point out is that essentially none of our evolution would have been possible without viruses, which have ‘updated our software’ and created adaptation. I guess that must have meant that people died along the way, but the only certainty we have in life is that one day we will die of something.
Making sacrifices for democracy and fairness The Sun at this Full Moon has an interesting message. He sits with a fixed star called Diadem, which is linked to feminine strength that is willing to make sacrifices on behalf of others whilst seeking no personal recognition for this. Many people are being asked to make sacrifices in their lives right now, but the energy of sacrifice according to this Full Moon should be about seeking the Libran ideal of democracy, justice, harmony and balance. That’s one of the messages as we reach a Full Moon that speaks of fight, courage, rules, restrictions and sacrifice. We stare economic suicide in the face, do we actually want to risk our own extinction as well? Economic suicide will wipe out more of us than the virus.
Full Moons reveal Astrologically we are gradually reaching the point where all the stagnant energy of so many retrograde planets will change as they move forward, gaining momentum to act. Under the mantle of a so-called pandemic, the old power handles are collapsing and being stripped. The next three months or so are likely to see some kind of crescendo. As we hit the Full Moon, Saturn has now followed Jupiter and is now direct – he has momentum. He is in a dynamic square with Mars – so we have Mars (the fight) clashing with rules, regulations and authority figures. This totally reflects our lives right now and I’m not alone I think in beginning to feel more than ‘battered’ as our environment becomes more one of ‘authority state’ than one of freedom speech and action that I grew up with. It feels as though all our power to act and do the things we want to is being restricted or even removed. Full Moons always reveal – they are times when the touchpaper is lit and the explosion happens. In the UK Boris seems to have gone back to his ‘whack a mole’ policy. But there’s only so many times before even a tiny blind mole can be whacked before he erupts and fights back.
There are also several ‘hot spots’ on a war type footing around the world at the moment, which could flare up at any time. Conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan has done just that. Armenia’s only atomic power plant has been threatened with disputes surrounding energy pipelines which serve Europe and Russia. Any fuse could be lit right now and remember it only takes one to ripple round the world.
Which battle to fight? I guess the message I take from this Full Moon is firstly pick the battle you are going to put your energy into – make it the right battle and the right opponent. Don’t be afraid to challenge the status quo. That’s how we all learn. Science does not have every answer because science is merely an evolving practice based on what we happen to know at a given point in time. Galileo was imprisoned because he dared to say that the Earth revolved around the Sun and not the other way around. Work out what you are fighting for. Make sure you are getting the facts you need and don’t be afraid to challenge so called authority figures. Trust your gut feelings and your gut brain. Is it the long game or the short game you are fighting for? Because I am not sure that the short game has much value.
As I write this I am abroad and within a few hours of my arrival I saw once bustling restaurants and bars preparing to close their doors in the next few days. We need some radical new realisations before we commit economic and civilization suicide. Should we instead accept our software update and learn how to adapt and to live alongside this novel virus ? We’ve had one lockdown - is a ‘circuit breaker’ really going to have any effect? The virus is out there – we have to stop hiding and learn how to adapt to it. Rather than invest millions in becoming a police state we need to fully support our health service and we can only do that if we keep our economy afloat.
Hope Boris took away hope for our freedoms, but we have to have the courage to keep hope alive and go forward with our own individual beliefs, convictions and gut views, whether or not they agree with current academic opinion. We have to have courage to fight the authority figures who don’t want us to have this software update and seek to cruelly restrict the freedoms of so many. As your elderly relatives are kept in savage isolation, your young are being isolated in universities and threatened with isolation from their families, as it becomes illegal in some parts of the country to even pass the time of day with someone else, as your ability to think and speak freely is curtailed – wake up, think differently. It might be your last chance.
But always keep hope. Keep your spiritual energy high – switch off from mainstream media and spend as much time as possible with those who will keep your energies high. Fight anxiety with meditation or whatever other techniques you are comfortable with and allow your three brains (head, heart and gut) to work in harmony. Get yourself a diffuser and burn uplifting essential oils – they have stimulating properties which produce a response in the limbic system of the brain. For good measure add in some anti-viral and anti-bacterial essential oils which will also protect your immune system. ‘Let food be thy medicine’ so that your body stays free from dis-ease. And let hope be your mantra as we approach a crucial point within humanity. Let’s not lose what it means to be human. Our world is changing faster and more radically than we could ever have believed. This is a period of transformation and regeneration – so have courage to fight for and adapt to the world you want and not the one that others might have designs for. There are ordering principles within our universe – everything breathes together.
