Who Rules the World? – New Moon in Leo

  This coming New Moon on August 19th is in the sign of Leo – the sign of Kings, Queens, rulers, leaders and heroes; the sign of pride, dignity and heart centred love.   New Moons are always about new beginnings and new intentions as a new cycle begins.   We have a New Moon every month but they are always significant – each new cycle has its own unique message and, of course, we can’t have new beginnings without endings.

  So what is this New Moon saying?   Well it is sitting with Mercury – the planet of communication and intellect and the only planet who can travel between the upper world and the underworld of secrets, toxicity and what is hidden.  And if you remember the last blog on the Full Moon, Mercury is also the natural significator of young people.   So this is another reminder to consider the children who go missing every year, who are trafficked and who are abused in some way.   These children are literally taken down into the underworld, but the toxicity of this is covered up and kept hidden.  We don’t think it’s really happening and we don’t want to believe that in today’s world it could be happening.   And the worlds of all our children are really being turned upside down right now with the fall out from the virus.

  Additionally, the Sun, Moon and Mercury are in a harmonious aspect with Mars, planet of action, courage and drive, in his own sign of Aries.   Mars is also the universal significator for ‘pestilence’ and by that read ‘virus’.   Leo and Aries are both fire signs.  Fire ignites – it has vision and inspiration; fire makes things happen as it seeks to impose its idealistic vision on others. Fire can devastate – as we have seen recently in Beirut.  Fire can just spontaneously combust, but here at this New Moon we have the King with a cause who wants to lead others into battle.  And we have never more desperately needed a true leader than now.

  This particular New Moon is also tied in quite tightly with our destinies and potentials in life, so we need to make sure we have the right King leading us and that we pick the right battle to fight; not easy for our heads to work out right now because Mercury is sitting so close to the Sun that he is blinded by his light.  He needs a pair of good polaroids.   But what is it that we can’t see that is right in front of our noses?   Is it some kind of information?   Is it the lost children?   Probably both of those.  Or is it cognitive dissonance because we just don’t want to open our eyes and really see what’s awaiting us?   I think we are so blinded by the issue of the virus we are just not seeing what is going to happen to our lives before too long if we don’t wake up; if we don’t reach for the polaroids and see.   

  Just look for instance at the A level fiasco as an example of a hapless ordering of our lives.   After a week of running around like hapless chickens we get the “Dominic Cummings” answer to the problem – oh there was a mistake with the algorithms.  I doubt it very much – that was likely to be exactly how it was planned, not expecting any reaction.   So just as with everything else right now – how many lives are being ruined, how much money has been wasted and how many futures put in jeopardy?   And this is just an example in micro of what’s going on at a larger scale.   We have to put our own polaroids on right now because there is very little true investigative journalism going on to be of any help to us.

  The Sun in the individual chart represents the Soul – the ego, the vitality and the will of the individual.    The Sun is the heart of the life purpose that we have chosen for this life.   In these difficult times it is the opportunity to be our own leader, our own hero and stand at the centre of ordering our own lives according to our own Soul’s purpose.

 This is not the easiest task right now as we are blinded to the truth and faced with draconian rules and laws the like of which most of us have never seen or even envisaged in our lifetimes in the West.   It feels more like we are in a real live movie, or have been transported to a communist state, or become part of George Orwell’s world in real life.  We are told to follow the science, but equally we well know that science is organic and keeps on evolving with different narratives.  And we are facing fear – a fear that makes many want to give up so much in return for the promise of safety from a virus, even though it may come at great cost to our ways of life.  And we actually know from a SAGE document published early on in lockdown that it was felt that we, as the UK Joe Public, needed to be made to feel personally threatened and frightened to enable compliance.

  Historically Kings have ruled kingdoms, which may be as small as counties or as large as nations and countries, but they have never yet ruled the world.   Over more recent times, however, we have seen a desire to expand kingdoms and nations to become global players and square up to the big boys of USA, China and Russia.  This has brought another word to the block – globalization – and with that word perhaps the tantalizing goal of being King of the World.

  World powers meet regularly, making decisions on common goals, but behind those common goals are the ideals and visions of each individual kingdom. In a ‘OneWorld’ era, however, there would be no need to accommodate the ideals of others.  Under the guise of Covid our movements are being controlled more and more by our smartphones and before long so will our spending, as money moves totally to a digital platform.   So, whilst you might think you are free and that you have free will, you actually are beginning to see that you do not, apart from at a very minor level.

  Astrology does come from this ‘one world’ view, but it is based on the fact that there is an invisible ordering principle behind life which emanates from a divine force.  It is based on the whole cosmos being conscious and, therefore, that we are being influenced by this conscious cosmos on both a personal and a collective level.  It is not based on the desires of a megalomaniacal controller, but more in line with the fact that everything has a purpose and a destiny and is part of a grander plan of a cosmos that has an intelligence and is sentient.  Therefore it follows that there is a World Soul – the Anima Mundi – and there is is a connection between all living things on the planet.  With this view the world is a living being endowed with a soul, a destiny and sentience, organized by the cosmological ordering principles of the planetary archetypes.  These ordering principles have the potential to be expressed in many ways but what we really want to see is the expression coming from the point of the highest good.  And if we can live from this point then a ‘OneWorld’ could be a good world.

   We have had viruses come and go before but why have we reacted as we have done now?   Because the archetypal energy informing the collective unconscious is one of huge change – possibly one as big as a new type of civilization and a global reset.   With the energy of change so big there’s confusion, terror and a fight for control and power.   So who has the power of the money and wealth?   Those who have huge wealth also probably have huge secrets that they want to keep hidden.   There is much that is toxic about our society; there’s a can of worms that we aren’t supposed to see – in fact more like a shipping container full of cans of worms!!!   

  The ruler of the world is an attractive job description for some. With Neptune in Pisces right now we are bombarded with a host of subliminal messages day in day out.   If we are in a fear based state we are easy prey for these subliminal messages.    It’s like being in the era of Orwell’s 1984 Double Speak where you are hit with two contradictory statements but you believe and buy into both.   Wear a mask – otherwise you are going to kill me by giving me the coronavirus. But go out, meet your friends, go to a restaurant – do everyone a favour and eat out to help out.  Stay two metres away – sit next to me and eat.   Meet me, sit with me for hours – but don’t hug me!   We’ve lost 20% from our GDP and are in recession – but don’t worry about that I’m going to cut your stamp duty so go out and buy a bigger house.

  So let’s cut to the chase – what is this New Moon’s message.  As I said the essence of Leo is Kings, leaders and heroes and being at your own heart centre.  At the most basic level it is to know that you are the hero in charge of your own purpose in life.   It is to have courage and to always be heart centred.   Remember one of my past blogs about the lion in the Wizard of Oz who was trying to find his courage?  He already had it but just didn’t realize it; just as you can move forward in a heart centred way.  So let’s go back to the great Joe Dispenza and his heart centred meditation.   If you have courage to go within to the core of your own heart and live by your own message – no matter how much you are blinded by everything that is going on around you – you have the power to ‘infect’ a whole host of other people around you with that message.  Now imagine the ripple that would cause if everyone around you picked up on your courage and then started feeding off their own inner courage rather than the fear based messages that are trying to penetrate the whole of the collective unconscious.  

  Mars will be in his own action sign of Aries for such a long time and this in itself could indicate a build up of anger, protests, aggression.   Or, alternatively, we can use the energy for the good.   Mars is the warrior of courage.  We need to be brave as we face so many difficulties in our lives and Mars in Aries can give us the strength we need to go with our hearts.   

  Science robbed us of a worldview where everything is part of a bigger plan, where the underlying unconscious and the planetary archetypes drove our actions and where the cosmos is both intelligent and sentient.   Instead they gave us a disenchanted cosmos devoid of Soul. I suggest that we go back to the astrological view of the world as an ensouled entity containing the invisible ordering principles behind life.   The collective unconscious contains the spiritual heritage of mankind’s evolution as well as its future progression.   If the collective unconscious contains our destiny as well as our past then we must get in touch with our intuition so that we can know what to do at a time when those who wish to rule the World are also seeing their opportunity to gain for themselves.  We must be our own hero and fight to attain the type of world that we really want to live in. 

  In a New Moon of Fire we must seek vision and get in touch with our heart centres so that we can reclaim a cosmos that is enchanted and get back to being our own heroes, in charge of our own journey and destiny – our own particular Soul purpose - as we were meant to.
